Our Beliefs

  • God created the world we live in order to fill it with His glory. He is still working towards this goal.
  • Human beings have polluted God’s world by ignoring God’s ways and God’s word. The consequence of this has been a world dominated by misgovernment, greed, materialism, sin, suffering and death, but God will not let this continue for ever.
  • The Bible is God’s plan for the world, the revelation of His promises and commandments and the record of the life, death, resurrection and promised return of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is full of help for the present and hope for the future.
  • Jesus is the Son of God, sent into the world to bring us back to God’s ways and to give us a hope of forgiveness, resurrection and a place in the kingdom He will set up on the earth when he returns.
  • Through the teaching of the Bible which God gave through Old Testament prophets, leaders and kings and New Testament disciples of Jesus, God shows us how to find joy and hope now and life for ever in a world full of His glory.
  • To be part of God’s plan we need to learn His ways, turn our backs on our past lives through repentance and be baptised into Jesus Christ, whose death on the cross opens a way for us to be forgiven our sins. God wants us to follow Jesus in our behaviour and our beliefs.
  • The resurrection of Jesus was a triumphant guarantee that He is God’s Son, that He will be King of Israel, that by Him God will rule a restored world and that we can have life after death through resurrection of the dead when He returns to reign from Jerusalem.
  • Jesus was a Jew and much of the Bible is concerned with the Jewish people and their land. Although they are currently astray from Him, God chose the Jews – the people of Israel, to be given His land, His laws, His blessings when they followed His ways and His punishments when they neglected them.
  • The return of the Jews to Israel is one of many signs that the time of the return of Jesus is very near.
  • Other Bible prophecies have been strikingly fulfilled, giving the clearest evidence of the very unique position of the Bible as God’s inspired word.
  • We model our beliefs and our lives on the teaching of the Bible and the practices of the first century church.
  • The Bible shows us that God worked in the lives of faithful believers in the past and still does today if we have faith in Jesus as Saviour and King.
